Patients, carers, and members of the public play an essential role in our research. Your experiences and perspectives help us design studies that address real-world needs and improve cancer care. There are several ways you can get involved.
Get Involved in Our Research
We regularly run studies exploring how people understand and experience immune-mediated cancer treatments (IMCT). Some studies involve people who have experience of cancer treatment, while others are open to members of the public.
Take part in a research study
Participation may involve:
completing an online questionnaire
taking part in an interview
sharing views about treatment information or communication
All participation is voluntary, and your information will be treated confidentially.
You can view our current studies orcontact the research team to find out about upcoming opportunities.
Join our Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group
PPIE members help us to:
shape research questions
review study materials
ensure information is clear and accessible
design intervention content
advise on how research findings should be shared
maintain relevant and impactful research
You do not need research experience to join - we value lived experience and different perspectives. Training can be provided, and costs will be reimbursed.
Patient and Public Involvement and Experience (PPIE) means working with patients and members of the public as partners in research, rather than as study participants.
By working with patients and the public, we aim to ensure that our research:
focuses on issues that matter to patients
uses language that people understand
reflects diverse experiences and communities
improves real-world cancer care
Your input helps make research more relevant, inclusive, and impactful.
